This article provides an overview on the amendments made to the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (Qld), which was amended in 2017 in order to provide for the offense of industrial manslaughter.

However, it was only in 2020 that the industrial manslaughter offense was extended to include and cover the resources sector including coal. The article also provides insight into the provisions of the amended policies and the relevant issues moving forward.
