Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Australia

In-house lawyers are grappling with a dynamic regulatory environment in Australia regarding cybersecurity.

Australia’s regulators are increasing their focus on the systemic risk of cyber threats across the Australian economy. Their message is clear: cyber is a key strategic risk that needs strong governance frameworks to address it. No longer is it enough for in-house legal teams to just get involved after a cyber incident, they should be actively engaging in cyber risk management – from preparedness to regulatory compliance.

Our expert panel will share valuable insights into the shifting regulatory landscape and the impetus for in-house counsel to play a key role in driving cyber maturity and risk mitigation, as well as your role in responding to a cyber incident. Hear from a range of different perspectives including a cybersecurity government expert, a former Chief Information Security Officer, a former regulator and privacy specialist, and a risk and investigations professional.

Working closely with your IT team is crucial to ensure a robust cybersecurity strategy. You are welcome to bring your IT manager/Information Security Officer to this event to help strengthen your working relationship in protecting your organisation.
