Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC ChicagoThis program on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization will focus on two sets of practical issues for employers: (1) benefits issues related to reimbursing abortion-related travel benefits; and (2) leaves of absence for those who miss work to obtain abortion services. We will consider issues such as:
• whether FMLA leave is available for an individual seeking an abortion;
• whether an individual receiving abortion services may be considered disabled under the ADA;
• how Dobbs affects abortion coverage and medical travel reimbursement options under employer medical plans; and,
• how state abortion laws outside Illinois affect employers that cover abortion services or provide reimbursements.
