A program hosted by:
ACC GeorgiaJoin ACC Georgia and Ogletree Deakins for a panel discussion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which will focus on the following practical issues for employers:
- Potential impacts of Dobbs on health care coverage and medical travel reimbursement benefit options under employer medical plans, and how state aiding and abetting laws could affect employers that provide related benefits.
- Employee relations issues that may arise post-Dobbs;
- Handling leaves of absence and whether FMLA leave is available for an individual seeking an abortion; and
- Whether an individual receiving abortion services may be considered disabled under the ADA.
Speakers
Greg Hare has been an employment lawyer at Ogletree Deakins his entire career, ever since 1991. He assists companies with human resources and employment-related litigation matters, including wrongful termination claims, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, employment contracts, trade secrets, and non-compete agreements. He advises clients on a wide range of human resources topics, such as drug testing, employee discipline and discharge, severance planning, independent contractor classifications, wage payment, family and medical leave, disability law, military leave, joint employment issues, affirmative action and reductions in force.
Ruth Michels practices exclusively in the area of employee benefits law. She represents clients in the areas of qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary compliance best practices, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, ERISA compliance, COBRA administration, HIPAA privacy regulations, and compliance with other federal laws relating to employee benefits matters, including the Affordable Care Act.
Tim Stanton focuses his practice on employee benefits, specifically Affordable Care Act compliance, data privacy and security, and benefit plan administration. His clients range from closely held to publicly traded companies. They include the U.S. divisions of global companies in industries ranging from insurance and other financial services to manufacturing, and from pharmaceuticals to retailers and wholesalers and transportation.

Attendance is limited to ACC members and their invited in-house counsel guests, as well as prospective ACC members. ACC membership is open to attorneys who practice law as in-house counsel employees of organizations and who do not hold themselves out to the public for the practice of law.

Thereafter, the fee for current ACC members is $25, and, in all circumstances, $35 for non-members, including prospective members. A CLE credit of one (1) hour is being applied for, and if approved, will be submitted to the Georgia State Bar for attendees licensed to practice in Georgia.
