Mercator by Citco is pleased to invite you to our webinar addressing the use of technology to monitor subsidiary governance without even asking questions from your local teams or service providers. In addition, we will discuss how to set up a suitable framework and best practice that would result in time efficiencies, improved risk mitigation and enhanced control through transparency.

Discuss common challenges encountered by multinationals and how or what technology, such as electronic signature systems and entity and task management systems, have helped them overcome these. We will place heavy focus on implementation of technology and connectivity between other departments, such as tax, finance and HR, within their companies to achieve speeding up the pace of business, cost reduction and minimize manual mistakes.

Head of Mercator by Citco

As Head of Mercator, Kariem brings three decades of experience in the international corporate servicing sector, almost exclusively within Citco. A Dutch law graduate who got his start in Amsterdam, during his tenure at Citco, Kariem was posted to several overseas jurisdictions, returning to Europe in the early 2000’s. The experience gained overseas inspired him to set up a specialized Global Entity Portfolio Management service and technology platform for multinationals. Today, through a combination of its comprehensive infrastructure and specialized software, the Mercator by Citco solution is truly unique in its reach, spanning over 160 jurisdictions.

Kariem holds a Commercial and Civil Law Master’s degree from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He is currently based in Luxembourg.

Chris Butler is Head of Operations of Mercator, a member of the global leadership team whose primarily responsibility is for client service and operations. In this role he oversees service delivery to clients around the world. Based in Vilnius, Lithuania he has over 30 years of professional services experience including almost 10 years working for Mercator by Citco, preceded by more than 10 years as an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Chris is a Chartered Accountant by profession and holds an MA Hons degree from Oxford University. Outside his roles at PwC and Citco, Chris helped set up and was elected Chairman of the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania for multiple terms.
