Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC Southern CaliforniaOver the past few years, employers have experienced a significant increase in employee complaints accusing c-suite and other senior executives of harassment and other forms of serious misconduct. While such complaints involve many of the same issues and considerations as other, more routine complaints, they also pose unique and confounding challenges that potentially have a significant, lasting impact on the organization. As a result, upon receipt of this type of complaint, employers must immediately launch a strategic, coordinated, and multi-faceted response that includes not only a prompt, impartial and effective investigation, but also a crisis management plan that is designed to minimize disruption and the extent and scope of the damage.
Please join members of Seyfarth's Workplace Crisis Response & Investigations practice and ACC SoCal for a discussion addressing the host of unique, complex issues triggered by complaints against the most senior members of an organization.
Topics covered include:
- Communications and information sharing with the Board of Directors
- The role and responsibilities of the Board of Directors
- The General Counsel’s role and responsibilities, including the management of information provided to the Board of Directors
- Managing and responding to inquiries from key investors and shareholders
- Potential shareholder liability for publicly traded companies
- Minimizing disruption and impact to organization throughout an investigation
