Association of Corporate Counsel Credentialing Institute (the Institute)

The mandate of the Institute is two-fold:

  1. To set standards to advance the in-house practice of law.
  2. To provide the education and training necessary to meet those standards.

In fulfilling this mandate, the Institute leverages the decades of experience and global presence that the broader ACC organization enjoys.

The Institute’s inaugural offering is the ACC In-house Counsel Certification Program, which launched April 30, 2018 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This program originated with a request from the Government of Dubai to offer a credential that, across the world, would signal proficiency in critical areas of the in-house practice. The Government of Dubai continues to be an active supporter of the certification program.

The Institute contemplates expanding its certification activities to other locations around the world. In addition to certification—which is a credential that applies to individuals—the Institute plans to offer an accreditation scheme that would apply to entire law departments. The Institute’s accreditation activities are in development.

The ACC In-house Counsel Certification Program

The ACC In-house Counsel Certification Program awards the In-house Counsel Certified (ICC) designation to successful participants.
