ACC Hong Kong (formerly the Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association), a leading legal association in Hong Kong, would like to invite you to host or sponsor one of its special events. These include half-day seminars and conferences, our "Meet the GC" series, a social gathering or other themed series of seminars.
ACC Hong Kong has built relationships with prominent legal professionals over our 13 year history. Our conference keynote speakers and panelists in the past have included Justice Kemal Bokhary, Regina Ip, Dennis Kwok, Martin Lee, Nicholas Sallnow-Smith, former Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung, David Eldon, former chairman of HSBC, David Webb, Justice Geoffrey Ma, Chief Judge of the High Court and Russell Coleman, former Chairman of the Bar Association.
As a partner of one of our special events, you can showcase the breadth and depth of your expertise beyond our usual lunch-time seminars and interact with our members on a more intimate level.
ACC Hong Kong Special Events
One of the key highlights of ACC Hong Kong's calendar is our series of half-day seminars/conferences held throughout the year. These half-day seminars/conferences have replaced our successful annual conference that we held for 10 consecutive years. There are now many in-house conferences in the market, and we are seeking to differentiate ourselves by providing member events that are more bespoke – hence, the idea for focused, themes seminars/conferences to give members a more in-depth analysis on an issue than our already popular one hour, lunch-time format.
The half-day format has proved successful, and we have held well-received events covering various themes, including best practice for senior in-house counsel, interpreting financial statements for lawyers, technology for lawyers, and updates on legal developments in the PRC.
It is our intention to have a wide range of topics for these half-day events, and we very much welcome your own ideas on what you might like to present to your target audience of in-house lawyers.
The format for half-day events is flexible - we can work together to shape any event to suit your needs. For example, your organisation could moderate a panel discussion as part of the event; there could be a keynote speaker and we would be happy to work with you to send a joint invitation; or we could co-operate to invite a high-profile in-house counsel to make a presentation or be a commentator.
Our "Meet the GC" Series is our flagship interview series. This is one of our most popular events. You can showcase your firm’s achievements by moderating a discussion with general counsel that you have worked with on successful projects, while informing ACC Hong Kong membership of the inner workings of legal performance at the highest level. Turnout for these events, which have been held in a breakfast format, has been high.
We are also open to your hosting a conference-style event that combines several of these features. This event, to be held at your offices or at an outside venue as you prefer, could include a keynote speaker, such as a major government or business figure, a Meet the GC session, where the interviewer could be provided either by you or by ACC Hong Kong, a presentation by one of your partners on a topical subject, and finally a panel of your lawyers on a topic of interest to you and to our members. We will work with you on the content and provide adequate marketing exposure to ensure that it will attract a substantial audience and provide a rewarding marketing opportunity for your firm.
